Holiday Cottages - A Great Alternative to a Hotel

When looking for somewhere to stay on your holiday, you are presented with many options; bed and breakfasts, hotels, camp sites, and arguably the most charming option; cottages.

Cottage accommodation works akin to a short term house or flat rental. You treat the place as your own and spend your time there as you would at home... Anyway you like. Inherently self catering, you decide what you eat, when you eat and what you do with your time. After a heavy night out at the local watering hole you are not faced with the burden of having to rise before 10am to catch breakfast.

Cottages really do offer you a home away from home experience where you really can put your feet up and relax in front of the fire at the end of a long day of activities and site seeing without the formalities of a hotel, the feeling of intrusion in a B&B and you get all the comforts that are not offered by a camp site.

All holiday cottages come furnished to a high standard and generally complement their surroundings. Kent cottages differ vastly from holiday cottages in other parts of the country, say, the lake district.

Holiday cottages vary in size massively so no matter if there 2 or 20 of you in your group, there is a cottage that can accommodate you. Sleeping arrangements also vary from cottage to cottage. In some, you will be sleeping 2 to a room, and others there will be a couple of bedrooms for couples and a dorm room like arrangement for the majority.

Though most holiday Cottages tend to be in the countryside, there does exist a large number in towns and villages. Some even in cities.

Certainly, there is no doubt that holiday cottage is a good alternative to a hotel. Not only do holiday cottages allow a relaxing break, but they also give you a holiday that's a little different from those all inclusive hotels.
